Contrast stool is found upon the Hungarian traditions of Lucaʼs chair, however realised within a modern framework: Incorporating traditional motives into contemporary design with regards to the vast contrasts and linkages among the two eras. It is about the reinterpretation of these folk motives using a contradictory method, in which the stoolʼs purely geometrical composition sharply contrasts with the original chairʼs organic forms.
The elements are characterised by regularity, nonetheless the result produces a delicate and elegant effect emphasising shapes. Thus, contrasts get further highlighted, not only to deliberately attract attention, but to encourage us to redefine such traditions in our own unique ways.
